The Carpe Diem box is by Match Pewter. Each box is handmade in Northern Italy using pre-Renaissance methods. It’s beautiful and I love it. It’s also the perfect size to hold a small bowl and a couple nugs. I got mine at Barney’s New York. The box is also available elsewhere online.

Simon Doonan, famous for creating naughty yuletide window displays of Margaret Thatcher (as a dowdy dominatrix) and Madonna (not the holy one), has a new stage on which to present his brand of mistletoe mischief: he is decorating the White House for Christmas. (via New York Times)
